When your business is taking its first few steps, bringing on a creative agency might not be an option. Nor is it the first thing on your mind. So, in the beginning, knowing you can rely on your in-house marketing team is critical. Graphic design is not exactly an easy skill to pick up, but graphics make or break some marketing campaigns.

This means choosing the right program is an important part of the process. That’s why we’ve created a quick list of a few of our favorite graphic design platforms.

Canva

A simplified and very user-friendly photo editor. This program uses drag-and-drop features, making it easy to navigate and understand. Plus, with mostly free access, you’re able to cheaply produce beautiful content. The biggest drawback of using Canva that we can see is that relying too heavily on premade designs that you customize can limit creativity. That being said, if you’re looking for a cheap and easy way to create beautiful graphics, this is the perfect option.

Pixlr

Pixlr is a free photo editor with hundreds of features available to its users. If you’re looking for an option as simple and easy to navigate as Canva, this isn’t it. But it’s a great stepping stone if you’re looking to purchase a higher-level photo editing system. This program has an advanced user interface that can seem intimidating but is very similar to the likes of Photoshop.

Adobe Photoshop

The big one. Probably the most well-known image editor out there. One of Wolf & Key’s favorite photo editing systems. Photoshop does have a monthly cost, but if you’re looking for an advanced program that can do just about everything under the sun, here it is. The most obvious drawback is the cost, and knowing how to use the program in the first place. Hint: YouTube will be your best friend.

These are only a few of the many options available for photo editing. Learning more about each program makes it easier to use and create with. And when you’re ready to outsource your digital marketing duties, let us know. Our team stays up to date with design trends, techniques, and styles.
