Historically more money has always been spent on traditional marketing than digital marketing. But that’s all about to change. For the first time in history, digital marketing will steal the crown, according to a recent study by eMarketer. By the end of 2019, $129.34 billion will be spent on digital marketing. That is 54.2% of the estimated total spent on ads across America, and is up almost 20% from what was spent last year.

By 2023, two-thirds of ad spending will go towards digital marketing. Talk about growth.

Why We Care

Well, as a digital marketing firm this is the kind of stuff we live and breathe for. It’s exciting to see how far this industry has come since Wolf & Key opened. Everything that we do is digital marketing. So we obviously feel that digital marketing is an important part of any company’s plan.

If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be here every day. We wouldn’t work as hard as we do to remain Google Premier Partners. We wouldn’t be so focused on doing everything we do with intentionality so that we can be at the forefront of the development in this digital world. We care about the growth of digital marketing because we have seen firsthand the way it can help a company grow.

Why You Should Care

Because you are living in a digital world. Shopping, socializing and so many other aspects of daily life are accessed via a person’s preferred technology. So doesn’t it make sense that more ad spending will start going to the platforms that people spend most of their time?

You can already find advertising almost everywhere that you look online. From Instagram to Facebook to YouTube, even the websites you browse often have ads on them. A few years ago, digital marketing was just another way to reach customers. Now, we’ve seen amazing and incredibly unique growth in this industry. Growth that clearly shows no sign of slowing down.

Digital marketing is no longer the future. It is the here and the now.  What are you doing to keep up with these changes? If you’re looking for help adapting to the digital landscape, learn more here.
