Networking is an incredibly powerful tool in marketing. There are plenty of ins and outs to it. Every person or business you network with has an influence on you. This is known as a circle of influence. It’s the people whose work you trust. It’s the relationships that help shape the way you develop your business.
In more simple terms, this is a form of networking between your business and another’s. Here’s why this matters and the difference it makes.
A circle of influence is deeper than just the people who refer business your way. For example, if you’re a marketing agency, it’s good to have a relationship with plenty of other marketing agencies. But that’s not where you should stop. This “circle” we’re talking about consists of, usually, 5-8 people who you are close with.
It’s not a mentorship, it’s a relationship. One where you can trust them for advice, go to them with questions and help them the same way they’ve helped you. These people will help challenge the way you do things, and that’s something every good business owner should look for.
What’s The Difference?
We have a series called Key Exchanges, where our co-owners Adam & Taylor sit down with other business owners. Their discussions with each person vary, but always revolve around what it’s like to own a business. Through this series, and through their conversations with hundreds of other business owners, our company has changed. We’ve grown, evolved, become more intentional with everything we create.
All of these changes have been a product of personal and professional growth. A lot of which has been learned through the influence of other successful people in our team members’ lives.
To make a long story short, it’s never a bad idea to network with other successful people. It’s never a bad idea to expand your circle of influence. You never know how it’ll help you grow. If your business is growing and you need help marketing, join our circle of influence and become a client today.
